Parnassus Books is located in a nondescript strip mall located in the busy Green Hills area of Nashville near the mall.

Whenever I’m in Nashville, I make sure to stop by Parnassus Books to browse their wonderful selection. If you’re lucky, you’ll be greeted at the entrance by one of the resident dogs and immediately be drawn to the creative layout and plethora of recommended books.
Parnassus Books is owned by the author Anne Patchett. All of her books in the store are signed by her. This independent bookstore has thrived in a time where many book stores have been forced to close. The exceptional customer service and inviting surroundings make you feel at home.
Walk towards the back of the store, and be sure to duck to enter the enticing children’s section filled with everything to keep young readers ready to turn to the next page.
One unique aspect of the store is the staff recommendations, organized by genre with eye-catching displays. In addition, keep an eye out for the “Mystery Book Subscriptions” for adventurous and avid readers.

Parnassus is more than wonderful visual displays and a collection of great books. It’s easy to find a book and cozy up for a while. The atmosphere is inviting and kids & adults are immediately right at home in Anne’s book shop.
No need to worry if your Nashville trip is too jam packed with music, booze and bbq to make it to Parnassus as they have an outpost at the Nashville airport where you can grab a book for your flight home.
