Location
Belmont Books is located on a busy village shopping street with other nice shops and reasonable parking available, either in the municipal lot or on street.
Experience
Visiting Belmont Books last week for the first time was a happy surprise. It is a very inviting space, being both well-lit and spacious. The first thing one encounters is the Black Bear Cafe, which is on the right side of the first floor. It features an assortment of coffee, tea, and pastries. It seemed to be very popular, even on a weekday morning.
Unsurprisingly, the books are the real draw here. They are nicely arranged, and shelved by subjects and authors. New and noted books are also highlighted in numerous displays. The current arrangement definitely invites browsing. It's also possible to request any book that is not yet found on their shelves.
The second floor features a large selection of children and YA books, including a section for teachers and parents. You are first greeted by a very nice display of books celebrating Black History month.
There is also a fine assortment of non-book material. There are cloth shopping bags, notebooks of all sizes and shapes, mugs, socks, and jewelry, plus wrapping paper and gift bags, along with a nice choice of cards to complete your gifts. It is definitely a one-stop shopping book shop. Belmont Books was a wonderful surprise, and I look forward to visiting it again.
