Experience:
Northshire Bookstore is an absolute behemoth of a space on the main road in Manchester, Vermont. Despite its size, the place has so many pockets of interest within the store that it never feels overwhelming. There are small pathways and stairways that take you to new literary adventures, offshoots that provide endless gifts, artwork, records, local trinkets, and a massive/ornate black metal staircase that transports you to even more! And for the weary shelf traveler, there is even a cafe to refuel and get back out onto the book world.
Favorite Aspect:
We absolutely we’re enamored by all of the details that bring a love of reading and stories to life within the space. It starts in the parking lot (of all places!) with a whimsical forest painting on the delivery door. That same love continues on the ground outside the shop and on along the walls to bring everything together. Northshire Bookstore is an incredible space inside and out, and you will be pleased you made the journey to Manchester, VT to check it out!
